Executive Chef - John Helms
Chef John began his culinary career at a young age, well before his first job at a family restaurant in Kansas City called Stevenson’s Restaurant. He has had a fascination with food since childhood and worked his way up within the industry even before attending the California Culinary Academy. He worked his magic in Napa and San Francisco in trendy establishments such as The Fifth Floor, Danko's, Chez Panise and the French Laundry. His training continued under the direction of Chef Raymond Henry in the US Virgin Islands. Through word of mouth, John made his way out west to the renowned Jenny Lake Lodge under the tutelage of Wes Hamilton. His next progression in fine dining was working with Chef Joe Santangini at the Amangani in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
With John’s tremendous background and experience, he then became our Chef at the South Fork Lodge and our guests have raved about him ever since. His culinary skills create amazing meals covering the spectrum of flavors and the dining atmosphere at the Lodge allows for memorable exchanges among all our guests. Chef John and his staff look forward to fulfilling a critical role in your vacation and enjoy making the dining experience a very personal one. Breakfast Sous Chef - Charlie Atwood
Charlie brings a lifetime of culinary and resort experience to the Lodge and his morning creations put meaning to the phrase “a great way to start any day” – especially a day of fly-fishing. Charlie started his culinary career with the original Rock Resorts back in Vermont and honed his skills in locations from Alaska all the way to Florida. He has worked as a Sous or Executive Chef at a number of resorts and business hotels before making his way to the Grand Teton Lodge and finally to the South Fork Lodge. Our guests look forward to catching up with him and hearing of his world travels during his off-season from the Lodge. Enjoy your mornings in the spectacular dining room and know you will be fueled for your day on the river.
